  • Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $21.13 million on Oct. 9, led by BlackRock’s IBIT with $22.38 million in inflows.
  • Ethereum ETFs recorded $56.10 million in outflows, extending their losing streak to nine consecutive trading days.
  • Santiment reported ETH exchange balances rose by over 100,000 ETH as Bitcoin reserves fell by 15,000 BTC between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8.

Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $21.13 million on Oct. 9, while Ethereum funds recorded their ninth consecutive day of outflows. Santiment Intelligence also reported rising ETH exchange balances and falling BTC reserves between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8. The figures show different fund flows and exchange movements as both assets faced price declines.

Bitcoin ETFs Attract Inflows as Ethereum Funds Lose Cash

According to SoSoValue data, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $21.13 million in net inflows on Oct. 9. BlackRock’s IBIT attracted $22.38 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC recorded $3.58 million in outflows.

Ethereum ETFs, however, posted $56.10 million in net outflows that day. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for the reported withdrawals, extending the streak to nine consecutive trading days.

Santiment previously reported that spot Ethereum ETFs recorded six straight days of outflows as of Oct. 6. Meanwhile, Bitcoin funds attracted capital, according to Farside data cited by the analytics firm.

Exchange Balances Show Opposite Trends for BTC and ETH

Exchange balances moved in different directions between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8. Santiment reported that ETH balances increased by more than 100,000 ETH, nearly 2%, during that period.

Bitcoin balances, by contrast, fell by approximately 15,000 BTC over the same window. Santiment said Bitcoin was leaving exchanges while Ether was returning to them.

Prices also declined during the period. ETH fell approximately 10%, while BTC dropped around 6%, according to Santiment.

ETF Flows Remain Mixed Across Both Assets

Historical ETF data from January 2024 through October 2026 shows repeated shifts between inflows and outflows. Bitcoin funds recorded several large inflow spikes, including one near $1.35 billion in late 2024 and early 2025.

However, substantial withdrawals also appeared during later periods, including an outflow approaching $1 billion around March 2025. Flows became more frequent from July 2026, although recent activity remained mixed.

Ethereum ETF data likewise shows fluctuating daily flows alongside price changes. ETH climbed toward 4,500–4,800 around September 2025 before declining toward 1,500–2,000 in mid-2026.

The latest chart shows a partial recovery toward 2,000–2,500, followed by renewed pressure near $2,500. The supplied data does not establish ETF flows as the sole cause of either asset’s price movements.
