Base announced a series of ecosystem updates this week, highlighting new builder initiatives, product launches and network upgrades. According to Base, the announcements include a new Request for Builders program, leadership changes involving Jesse Pollak and Cobie, infrastructure improvements and several applications expanding trading, payments and tokenized finance across the network.
Base Expands Builder And Infrastructure Plans
According to Base, the new Request for Builders program targets global onchain finance. The Base Ecosystem Fund will prioritize tokenization, stablecoins, emerging market payments, credit, institutional foreign exchange, prediction markets and agentic commerce.
Meanwhile, Jesse Pollak transferred responsibility for the Base App to Cobie. Pollak said he will now focus entirely on developing Base as a blockchain for global finance.
Base also announced Native Account Abstraction under EIP-8130. The feature is scheduled to launch with the Cobalt network upgrade in September.
Additionally, Base said native B20 precompiles reduce transfer costs by between 9% and 17% compared with standard Solidity implementations. The network also reported that B20 tokens surpassed $100 million in decentralized exchange trading volume within one week of launch.
New Applications Expand Onchain Activity
Alongside infrastructure updates, developers introduced several new products on Base. Paul Frambot announced that Morpho Midnight is launching on the network.
Nifty Island introduced Prize World, combining digital card collecting with rewards and Amazon integration. Forecast also opened trading for its private football prediction market.
Furthermore, Anyone launched Races, allowing users to predict which asset outperforms another. KOR also introduced an onchain marketplace connecting artificial intelligence talent with creative assets.
QuickNode released Earn, automatically allocating USDC into selected Morpho vaults. Meanwhile, BOB enabled native BTC-to-EURC swaps through the BOB Gateway.
Payments, AI And Markets Continue Growing
Base also highlighted several new financial applications. MYRAD launched a platform allowing users to monetize verified application activity through zero-knowledge proofs.
Jenil introduced Builder, an autonomous agent that creates applications for other agents while earning through x402. Meanwhile, Moneda launched recurring onchain payments supporting rent, subscriptions and savings.
Finally, CallPut introduced decentralized options trading for U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds on Base. Base also reminded developers that Alliance’s accelerator applications close on July 22, with selected teams eligible for up to $500,000 in funding and presentations to Paradigm, a16z, Founders Fund and Dragonfly.
