Crypto Market
  • Ethereum leads social sentiment with 2.05 bullish comments per bearish one, compared with 0.82 for Bitcoin and 0.92 for XRP.
  • ETH trades near $2,503 with an RSI of 46.31, while resistance at 2,550–2,600 could determine its next move.
  • Bitcoin gained 6.60% in the comparative data despite fearful sentiment, while XRP fell 2.43% and struggled to reclaim $1.40.

Ethereum has become the crowd favorite as social media sentiment turns fearful toward Bitcoin and XRP, according to Santiment Intelligence. Data from X, Reddit and Telegram showed 2.05 bullish ETH comments for every bearish one, compared with 0.82 for Bitcoin and 0.92 for XRP. The readings reflect contrasting trader reactions to recent price movements.

Ethereum FOMO Grows Despite Weak Price Momentum

Santiment attributed Ethereum’s positive sentiment to its rebound above key support, staking demand and optimism about upcoming network improvements. However, ETH traded at $2,502.88 on Binance’s four-hour chart on October 14, down 0.32% on the latest candle.

Ethereum’s relative strength index stood at 46.31, below its signal average of 47.27 and the neutral 50 level. Meanwhile, its MACD line measured -8.90, above the signal line at -10.22, while the histogram reached 1.33.

These readings suggest improving short-term momentum, although ETH has yet to confirm a stronger recovery. Immediate support lies between $2,450 and $2,480, while resistance sits around 2,550–2,600. A breakout could open a path toward $2,700, whereas a drop below $2,450 could expose $2,400.

Bitcoin Fear Follows Rejection Near $87,000

Bitcoin recorded just 0.82 bullish comments per bearish comment across the social platforms tracked by Santiment. The firm linked the shift to repeated rejection near $87,000, a decline toward $81,000, heavy long liquidations and macroeconomic pressure.

Despite that sentiment, Bitcoin outperformed both assets in the comparative performance data. BTC gained 6.60% over the displayed period, compared with Ethereum’s 0.43% increase.

XRP FUD Deepens as Price Struggles

XRP registered 0.92 bullish comments per bearish comment as the token fell more than 9% over the past week, Santiment reported. Leveraged long liquidations and difficulty reclaiming $1.40 contributed to the negative mood.

The comparative data showed XRP down 2.43%, making it the weakest performer among the three assets. Santiment noted that fear around Bitcoin and XRP could present a contrarian setup if prices recover, contrasting with the crowd excitement surrounding Ethereum.
