Emirates Expands Payment Options with Crypto.com
The memorandum of understanding was signed in Dubai in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum as well as the top representatives of both firms. Emirates will consider integrating Crypto.com Pay into its digital payment methods, focusing on workarounds on behalf of international travelers.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted on the new development: “Partnering with Crypto.com to integrate cryptocurrency into our digital payments system reflects Emirates’ commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences.” He also hinted at that the partnership aims to engage younger, tech-driven consumers: “This strategic move is in line with Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of financial innovation while at the same time providing our customers with greater flexibility and choice in how they transact with Emirates.”
This contract was signed by Kazim and Mohammed Al Hakim, the president of Crypto.com operations in the UAE. The deal is based on Dubai being a financial and digital innovations center in the region.
Security-Focused Integration and Awareness Campaigns
Crypto.com and Emirates are set to collaborate on implementing the payment option with strict adherence to compliance and security standards. The companies expect the integration to be completed by 2026.
Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, noted the significance of the collaboration: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of this important MoU with Emirates Airline.” He added: “Integration with exceptional partners such as Emirates will bring real momentum to the digital asset industry and enable both companies to offer genuine innovative finance solutions for our customers.”
In addition, the two companies will collaborate on joint marketing campaigns to market the new payment method and encourage user adoption, as well as to offer overall support for Dubai’s wider ambition of creating a regulated and progressive ecosystem for digital assets.
