Tangem, a prominent provider of self-custody cryptocurrency wallets, has announced a significant update by integrating two new blockchain networks, Cardano and Manta. This expansion enhances the versatility of Tangem’s wallet, enabling users to manage a broader array of digital assets securely.
The addition of Cardano support is a notable development for Tangem users. Cardano, recognized for its proof-of-stake blockchain technology, is celebrated for its scalability and robust security features.
With this integration, users can now manage Cardano native tokens (CNTs) within their Tangem wallets. This includes popular tokens such as Iagon (IAG), SingularityNET (AGIX), Cornucopias (COPI), Snek (SNEK), and World Mobile Token (WMT).
To utilize these features, users need to update their Tangem app. The updated app will allow users to access Cardano native tokens through the “Manage Token” section. Although staking support for Cardano is not yet available, Tangem plans to include this functionality shortly.
The Cardano community has responded positively to this development, with several members expressing their support by purchasing Tangem wallets. For instance, Stake with Pride, a well-known Cardano stake pool operator, highlighted their acquisition of a Tangem Wallet 2.0 Pack of 3, demonstrating the community’s enthusiasm.
In addition to Cardano, Tangem’s integration with Manta adds another layer of functionality. Manta, a privacy-focused blockchain platform, is designed to offer enhanced transaction confidentiality compared to public blockchains. Users interested in leveraging Manta’s privacy features will need to update their Tangem apps to interact with this network effectively.
With these recent integrations, Tangem now supports 61 different blockchain networks. This includes well-established networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Ledger, and Solana, as well as newer and emerging projects like Aleph Zero, Hedera Hashgraph, Kusama, and Shibarium.
Since its start in 2021, Tangem has grown into a leading provider of secure self-custody solutions. Their main product, the Tangem Wallet, is a physical card-shaped device that helps users manage their cryptocurrency safely and easily. With more than 1 million cards made, Tangem continues to grow its role in the cryptocurrency industry.
