Argentine Lawyer Seeks Interpol Red Notice Against Hayden Davis

Argentine lawyer Gregorio Dalbon has formally requested an Interpol red notice for U.S.-based entrepreneur Hayden Davis. The request follows allegations that Davis played a central role in the Libra cryptocurrency scandal, causing investor losses and freezing $100 million in assets.

Arrest Request and Procedural Risk

Dalbon submitted the request to prosecutor Eduardo Taiano, who oversees the investigation. Judge María Servini supervises the legal process. The legal document emphasizes the risk of Davis evading justice due to his wealth.

The lawyer cited Davis’s freedom as a risk to the investigation. He warned that Davis’s financial resources may enable him to flee. Dalbon referenced Article 221 of the Federal Criminal Procedure Code. The request argues that investor losses demand prompt legal intervention. Dalbon requested an international arrest warrant and an Interpol red notice for extradition.

Libra Scandal and Government Connections

The case centers on the collapse of the Libra token and investor losses. Prosecutors have frozen nearly $100 million in crypto assets connected to the investigation. The document states that Davis played a central role in creating and promoting the token.

The investigation links Davis to Argentine President Javier Milei and Karina Milei. Davis met with Milei at Casa Rosada on January 30 to support technological development. His actions reportedly involve ties with top government officials.

Legal Maneuvers and Ongoing Investigations

Davis filed a lawsuit in a U.S. court and changed his legal team. He is now represented by Waymaker Law, a Los Angeles firm. He added cybercrime expert Marcos Salt for legal support in Argentina.

Davis’s previous representation, Yanina Nicoletti, is no longer part of his defense. In an interview with American YouTuber Stephen Findeisen, Davis stated that he acted as an advisor to Milei. He claimed he was not the primary actor in creating the token.

Davis presented himself as a victim and blamed the Argentine government for the token collapse. His lawyers have not yet responded to the legal request. CoinDesk reported leaked chats where Davis allegedly paid Karina Milei for presidential access, though sources denied the claim.
