  • Shiba Inu deployed a node update to resolve MetaMask Mobile RPC issues, improving support for mobile wallet users on Shibarium.
  • The network now supports over 1.2 billion transactions with more than 11.3 million blocks successfully created.
  • Shibarium’s DeFi Toolkit was upgraded to include new liquidity tools and governance via ShibDAO for community-led development.

The Shiba Inu development team has released a new update for both Shibarium mainnet and Puppynet, the project’s testnet. The update, shared through a post by the “Shibarium Updates” account on X, notifies all node operators to urgently implement the latest changes by following the official upgrade documentation.

The need for this upgrade stems from persistent issues reported by MetaMask Mobile users. These users encountered RPC errors while interacting with Shibarium due to unsupported EIP-1559 functions, particularly the eth_maxPriorityFeePerGas method. MetaMask had previously confirmed the issue would be resolved with versions 7.46.0 and 7.46.1. The latest Shibarium update resolves these compatibility errors, allowing mobile users to resume transactions without further disruptions.

Mainnet Snapshots and Toolkit Enhancement

Besides node updates, the Shiba Inu team addressed the earlier absence of mainnet snapshots on the Shibarium explorer page. These snapshots have now been restored, ensuring improved network monitoring for developers and validators. Additionally, the project’s DeFi Toolkit received functional upgrades. The toolkit now supports concentrated liquidity and improved reward mechanisms, which aim to boost efficiency in DeFi interactions across the network.

The recent changes also align with the activation of ShibDAO, a governance layer that allows community participation in development decisions. The integration of ShibDAO ensures that the community can vote on changes to tools like the DeFi Toolkit, encouraging a more decentralized and responsive ecosystem.

According to recent blockchain data, the Shibarium network has now executed more than 1.2 billion transactions. The total block count has surpassed 11.3 million. Current active addresses have reached over 263 million, while daily transaction volume stood at 710,280. This consistent activity highlights the network’s growing adoption despite broader market challenges.
