  • As of their important accomplishments in blockchain, David Schwartz and Jed McCaleb are proposed for inclusion on Crypto Mount Rushmore.
  • John Deaton, a lawyer, argues that splitting Bitcoin data from broader crypto progress helps clarify the industry’s role.
  • Other well-known names being mentioned are Vitalik Buterin, Brian Armstrong, Michael Saylor, and Charles Hoskinson because of their effect on the ecosystem.

John Deaton has mentioned Ripple executives Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen as top contenders for entry in the Crypto Mount Rushmore. A recent X post placed Ripple co-founder Jed McCaleb and the current Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, among the key players competing in the digital asset world.

Deaton ranked Bitcoin’s anonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, as the first person on his list. Satoshi was included, according to Gavin, since he helped build blockchain and launch Bitcoin.

Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum Draws Positive Attention

Another important member of the cryptocurrency world is Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum. The key reasons for selecting Deaton include, according to Deaton himself, Buterin’s introduction of smart contracts and decentralized applications to reshape the way blockchain can be used.

For his crucial part in developing Ripple’s XRP Ledger and starting the company, Jed McCaleb was credited by Ripple. He highlighted that Stellar, founded in part by McCaleb, helped secure McCaleb as one of the top influencers in crypto.

David Schwartz Receives Award for Technical Progress

Current Ripple CTO David Schwartz was included for his important technical contributions. He noted that Schwartz helped build the XRP Ledger and filed pioneering patents before the development of blockchain technology. Ripple has made Schwartz a key player as it tries to surpass platforms like Ethereum and Solana on XRPL.

He included Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao as options for the list. He honored Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, for leading the recent launch of the stablecoin RLUSD and the acquisition of Hidden Road.

Also included were mentions of Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Kraken’s Jesse Powell, and Custodia Bank founder Caitlin Long. Michael Saylor, the man spearheading Bitcoin adoption at MicroStrategy, is on the list as well. Charles Hoskinson, Charlie Lee, Sergey Nazarov, Hal Finney, Gavin Andresen, and Nick Szabo were recognized for their early and continued influence.

Ken Deaton finished his remarks by observing that not every crypto contributor is considered a Bitcoin pioneer. He felt this might help create a clearer guideline for honoring important individuals in the digital asset world.
