David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer of Ripple, publicly thanked Elon Musk through a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post, which surprised many, was unrelated to Schwartz’s usual topics of blockchain technology and XRP. Instead, it was directed at Starlink, a satellite internet service operated by Musk’s SpaceX.

Schwartz shared his appreciation by tweeting, “Thanks, Elon (Seriously. This is awesome.),” accompanied by a screenshot of a message from Starlink. The message detailed recent improvements and additions to Starlink’s services, which seemed to have left a positive impression on Schwartz.

Starlink has been pioneering the provision of high-speed internet to remote and underserved regions worldwide. As Schwartz highlighted, the recent updates are expected to enhance the overall user experience further.

The Ripple CTO‘s acknowledgment of Musk’s efforts did not go unnoticed by the crypto community on X. Schwartz, who is widely respected within the industry for his contributions to the development of the XRP Ledger, received significant attention for his post.

His message highlights the community’s recognition of the impact of Musk’s ventures beyond the crypto space.

Schwartz remains an influential figure in the XRP Ledger‘s ongoing development. Recently, during the XRP Community Day event, he discussed key advancements and features being built into the ledger.

These include unique XRPL Automated Market Maker (AMM) aspects, interoperability with other systems, a robust lending protocol, and decentralized identifiers.

Additionally, Schwartz mentioned Oracles for real-world data and multi-purpose tokens, which are expected to bolster institutional DeFi applications on the XRPL.

Meanwhile, Ripple strengthens its partnership with educational institutions in the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI). The latest development that was made by the company is the partnership with Yonsei University in South Korea.

With this partnership, Ripple has signed 58 Universal Banks Relocation Initiative or UBRI partners from across the world, 12 of them are in the Asia-Pacific area.

The collaborating party, Yonsei University, a leading academic institution in South Korea, will conduct various new initiatives. The fields of study include artificial intelligence, finance, and information systems.
