A crypto theft has drawn attention after John Daghita, known as “Lick,” reportedly stole over $40 million from US government seizure addresses. Besides flaunting his wealth on Telegram, Daghita launched a new token, $LICK, on PumpFun, holding 40% of the total supply.
Onchain investigator ZachXBT traced multiple wallets linked to Daghita, confirming inflows from both government seizure funds and other suspected victims. Consequently, authorities now face increasing scrutiny of crypto custody procedures and seizure management.
According to reports, Daghita’s father owns CMDSS, a Virginia-based IT contractor assisting the US Marshals Service with seized digital assets. Hence, insiders suggest familial connections might have enabled access to government-held crypto. In one recording, Daghita participated in a “band for band” challenge against another threat actor, Dritan Kapplani Jr., showing control over $23 million across multiple wallets.
Tracing the Flow of Stolen Funds
Investigations reveal that Daghita moved millions across Ethereum and Tron addresses. For example, wallet 0xd8bc received $6.7 million in ETH, while another Tron wallet contained $2.3 million. Moreover, wallets received $63 million+ from various victims and government seizure accounts in late 2025. Transfers continued to platforms like MEXC and, more recently, Tornado Cash, which processed $35.2 million over two days.
Besides obscuring the origin of funds, Daghita registered rare ENS names and spent significant amounts on Telegram usernames, further indicating reckless flaunting of stolen assets. Analysts warn anyone interacting with these wallets risks receiving stolen property and potential legal consequences. ZachXBT emphasized, “If you get paid/received funds from John, you should know you are being paid with stolen funds, and jail is your home.”
