  • HKT’s merchant network combined with Circle’s Web3 tech aims to transform loyalty programs, empowering merchants with innovative engagement tools.

Circle, a global digital financial technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hong Kong Telecom (HKT). The partnership aims to explore blockchain-based customer loyalty solutions for Hong Kong merchants, leveraging Circle’s Web3 Services and HKT’s robust customer engagement platform.

Through this collaboration, the companies seek to transform how consumers engage with brands and merchants by introducing blockchain-backed rewards programs that enhance customer experiences.

Leveraging Web3 for Enhanced Customer Engagement

Circle’s Web3 Services, known for offering enterprise-grade tools, will be pivotal in this project. With key components like Programmable Wallets, Circle’s platform simplifies blockchain integration for enterprises, enabling seamless use of digital assets and smart contracts in consumer applications.

By working together, Circle and HKT hope to offer merchants blockchain-powered tools that streamline loyalty programs and create more dynamic consumer interactions. Notably, Circle’s platform offers companies a chance to incorporate on-chain loyalty programs, providing a unique framework to reward customers through Web3 capabilities.

HKT’s Role in the Partnership

HKT’s expansive ecosystem of merchants and its customer engagement expertise will support the loyalty platform’s deployment. The collaboration aims to bring HKT’s merchants new opportunities to build stronger relationships with their customers through innovative loyalty solutions.

According to Monita Leung, CEO of HKT Digital Ventures, Circle’s expertise in Web3 aligns well with HKT’s strengths in customer engagement. HKT’s established position in Hong Kong’s digital economy provides a solid foundation for implementing Circle’s blockchain-based loyalty services across a wide range of merchants.

Circle’s Focus on Blockchain Loyalty Innovation

Jeremy Allaire, Circle’s co-founder and CEO, highlighted the company’s dedication to utilizing blockchain for customer loyalty. Earlier this year, Circle introduced a Smart Contract Platform that powers on-chain loyalty programs, enabling users to earn and redeem rewards seamlessly.

Notably, Web3’s decentralized architecture supports innovative reward structures, such as tokenization, that offer new value opportunities for customers. Both companies aim to make the loyalty platform accessible to merchants, fostering a modern loyalty experience within Hong Kong’s digital ecosystem.
