Americans Rally Behind Lummis’s BTC Reserve Bill with 2,200 Letters

Thousands of Americans have expressed their support for Senator Cynthia Lummis’ “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” legislation. More than 2,200 letters were sent urging U.S. Senators to endorse this law establishing a national bitcoin stockpile. Such widespread political support suggests a growing interest in Bitcoin as a strategic asset among different parties and ideologies within American society at large.

Lummis Introduces Bitcoin Reserve Bill

Senator Lummis announced her proposal on July 27 during the Bitcoin 2024 conference, where she stated it could be used against dollar devaluation or reducing national debt levels. It was officially introduced into Congress on July 31 with plans calling for the creation of a one million unit (5% total supply) BTC stash comparable to US Gold Reserves.

Americans Urge Senators To Support Cryptocurrency Legislation

On August 3rd Dennis Porter revealed that people from various states had written letters asking senators to co-sponsor new BTC legislation through Satoshi Action Fund.

The former President Donald Trump supported its bi-partisan nature among others who were prominent endorsers like Sen.Lummis herself –known as an advocate regulator regarding virtual currencies- stressing the necessity behind strategic bitcoin reserves aimed at improving national fiscal security She pointed out the current indebtedness situation whereby Us government is almost $35 Trillion in debt with Debt/GDP ratio standing at about120%.
