- Markets favor unchanged interest rates at the October 28 Fed decision, while traders watch whether Bitcoin can reclaim its 50-day EMA.
Bitcoin’s repeated tests of $80,000 have not triggered heavy short-term holder transfers to exchanges, according to analyst Darkfost. Meanwhile, Doctor Profit says he has built long positions between $80,000 and $81,000, targeting $94,000. The analysts’ assessments come ahead of the October 28 Federal Reserve decision, with markets favoring unchanged interest rates.
Short-Term Bitcoin Holder Transfers Remain Moderate
Darkfost reported that short-term holders sent 19,800 BTC to exchanges over 24 hours. Of that total, 11,300 BTC were transferred at a profit, while 8,500 BTC moved at a loss.
Apart from an October 8 spike, Darkfost said short-term holder activity has remained calmer despite Bitcoin’s repeated tests below $80,000. He described the latest transfer figures as moderate compared with levels observed in recent months.
Doctor Profit Identifies $80K as an Accumulation Zone
Doctor Profit said his long positions now average $80,400, following entries between $80,000 and $81,000. His spot holdings have an average entry price between $60,000 and $64,000.
He previously predicted a breakout above $82,500 toward $88,000, then anticipated a correction toward $79,000. After Bitcoin fell from $88,000 toward $80,000, he closed his short position at $80,600, bought additional spot Bitcoin and opened a long.
Doctor Profit identifies $79,000 to $81,000 as an accumulation zone. He cites institutional entry levels around $80,000 to $81,500, treasury average costs near $80,200 and rebuilt Binance spot bids around $80,000 by October 20. He also says realized profit-taking has slowed to roughly half its pace around September’s high.
Bitcoin Traders Await Fed Decision and $94K Target
Doctor Profit argues that retail selling and futures shorts contribute to current pressure, while midterm and long-term holders remain reluctant to sell. He questions the Fear & Greed Index reading of 54, saying it understates fear among recent buyers and sellers.
He wants Bitcoin to reclaim its 50-day exponential moving average and close above it daily. His target remains $94,000. For October 28, the supplied figures show an 89.7% probability of unchanged rates and a 10.3% chance of a quarter-point hike.
