- Binance Charity commits $1.5 million in BNB tokens to aid victims of Storm Boris across Central Europe.
- Users from affected areas in Poland, Romania, and Czechia will receive BNB token vouchers via Binance.
- Proof of address submissions after September 18th will still qualify users for partial aid in BNB.
Binance Charity has pledged $1.5 million in BNB to assist those affected by Storm Boris in Central Europe. The non-profit organization, known for leveraging Web3 technology for charitable causes, aims to support individuals in Poland, Romania, and Czechia, where the storm caused severe flooding and devastation.
Eligible Binance users from the impacted areas will receive $50 worth of BNB token vouchers, which can be redeemed through the Binance Rewards Hub. To qualify for the donation, residents must complete a Proof of Address (POA) validation before the September 18, 2024 deadline.
For those unable to meet the initial deadline, Binance has extended the POA submission period until October 10, 2024. However, users who submit their documents after September 18th will receive $25 in BNB, a reduced amount compared to early applicants.
The assistance will be distributed as redeemable BNB vouchers, similar to the first group of beneficiaries. Additionally, individuals must have an existing Binance account created before September 18th to be eligible.
Binance Charity’s initiative to support victims of Storm Boris aligns with its broader mission to provide aid during crises. The organization previously donated $1 million in BNB to assist flood-affected cities in Brazil earlier this year. In this latest relief effort, Binance aims to ease the burden on those affected by the storm’s widespread damage.
Kyrylo Khomyakov, Binance’s General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, emphasized the exchange’s commitment to helping communities in distress. According to him, the funds will help cover immediate needs and rebuild lives shattered by the storm’s impact.
