Donald Trump, a 2024 U.S. presidential candidate, revealed that he has been receiving new assassination threats from Iran. According to intelligence reports, Iranian forces are allegedly planning to assassinate him in an attempt to destabilize the United States.

Trump expressed concern about the escalating threats, noting that the entire U.S. military is on high alert in response. His campaign confirmed that U.S. intelligence has warned of real and specific threats from Iran targeting the former president.

In a social media post, Trump highlighted the severity of the situation, stating:

Not a good situation for anyone. I am surrounded by more men, guns, and weapons than I have ever seen before.

Despite his concern, Trump expressed gratitude to Congress for increasing funding for the Secret Service. The bipartisan approval ensures additional resources to protect the former president from potential threats.

The Secret Service has already thwarted two assassination attempts on Trump in recent months. U.S. citizens carried out both attempts, believed to be influenced by foreign powers, including Iran.

Under the leadership of acting Director Ronald Rowe, Secret Service officials have come under scrutiny for security lapses. In the latest incident, Trump and two others were injured, while one attendee was killed before the attacker was neutralized.

Rowe, who took over following the resignation of Kimberly Cheatle, acknowledged that local law enforcement should have intercepted the shooter before shots were fired. He assured the public that the agency’s methodologies remain sound but admitted that the service is understaffed.

The U.S. intelligence community has also raised concerns over Iran’s attempts to interfere in U.S. elections, with allegations of Tehran’s involvement in hacking Trump’s campaign. These developments have led to increased calls for heightened vigilance and preventive measures.
