Travala, a travel platform specializing in cryptocurrency payments, has announced its integration with Skyscanner, a leading travel marketplace. This collaboration allows millions of Skyscanner users to book hotel stays using cryptocurrencies. Announced on September 5, the partnership enhances the visibility of Travala’s 2.2 million hotel listings across 230 countries, offering an innovative payment method to Skyscanner’s vast user base.

Over 100 Cryptocurrencies Accepted  

Travala supports more than 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Tether, and XRP. This broad range of digital payment options makes it easier for travelers to use their preferred cryptocurrencies for booking accommodations. As a result, Skyscanner users can now choose to pay with digital assets, giving them an alternative to traditional payment methods.

Enhanced Visibility for Crypto Payments  

With 110 million monthly users, Skyscanner’s platform now displays Travala’s hotel listings alongside competitors like Expedia and Booking.com. This increased visibility is crucial in promoting cryptocurrency as a mainstream payment method in the travel industry. According to Travala CEO Juan Otero, integrating Travala into Skyscanner’s platform is an important step toward mass crypto adoption, as it highlights the practicality of using cryptocurrencies for everyday transactions, starting from travel bookings.

Travala is offering additional incentives for users paying with cryptocurrencies. Through its AVA Smart Program, travelers can enjoy up to 10% back in Bitcoin for bookings made using digital currencies. This rewards program is designed to attract more crypto users, enhancing the appeal of Travala’s platform by combining convenience with financial perks.
