- Ford will advise a Cardano project addressing legal data management inefficiencies.
- Iagon and CloudCourt are building a decentralized, AI-supported legal data system.
- The proof-of-concept will evaluate blockchain performance versus traditional systems.
Cardano-based decentralized cloud platform Iagon has partnered with legal tech firm CloudCourt to develop a solution for managing sensitive legal data. Ford Motor Company will serve as an advisor on this project. The initiative targets the challenges corporations face in storing and handling large volumes of legal documents.
The project aims to resolve issues such as fragmented document storage, limited access, and data vulnerability. Ford, as a Fortune 500 company with extensive legal operations, will offer strategic feedback on system efficiency and feasibility. The collaboration will focus on a proof of concept (POC) integrating Iagon’s blockchain infrastructure with CloudCourt’s AI-powered legal tools.
Combining Blockchain and AI for Legal Operations
The proposed system uses Iagon’s decentralized cloud storage to store sensitive documents securely on the Cardano blockchain. Cloud Court contributes artificial intelligence tools that process and analyze legal transcripts, including depositions and court filings. This combination aims to streamline access to legal data while maintaining strict security standards.
By removing reliance on centralized storage and manual processing, the project seeks to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs. The team will also explore the benefits of immutable audit trails and transparent recordkeeping for corporate legal departments. Ford’s participation will help assess how this blockchain-based model compares with traditional enterprise solutions.
Ford’s Broader Blockchain Engagement
This advisory role continues Ford’s involvement in blockchain innovation. In 2019, the automaker cooperated with IBM and LG Chem to employ blockchain to ethically obtain cobalt. Ford was also one of the founders of the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative (MOBI) in 2018 with BMW, Renault and General Motors under it.
Ford lodged several trademarks around the metaverse more recently, in September 2022. These filings reflect growing interest in applying emerging technologies across various aspects of its business.
