Crypto.com Joins Forces with UEFA Champions League as Official Sponsor
  • Crypto.com becomes the official sponsor of UEFA Champions League in a multi-year deal.
  • UEFA partnership aims to boost cryptocurrency awareness among global sports fans.
  • Crypto.com’s UEFA deal integrates cryptocurrency further into mainstream sports culture.

Crypto.com has entered into an exclusive, multi-year partnership with the UEFA Champions League, becoming the official global sponsor of the prestigious soccer competition. This collaboration marks the first instance of a cryptocurrency platform securing a significant role in one of the world’s most-watched sporting events.

Announced on August 14, 2024, this deal positions Crypto.com at the forefront of the sports and cryptocurrency sectors, bringing together two global giants. The UEFA Champions League, renowned for featuring top-tier soccer clubs across Europe, commands a vast, worldwide audience.

Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer at Crypto.com, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. He noted that the collaboration aligns with Crypto.com’s mission to make cryptocurrency accessible to a broader audience.

The company aims to introduce digital assets to mainstream audiences with limited cryptocurrency exposure by integrating with a high-profile event like the UEFA Champions League.

Kalifowitz also highlighted that the company’s user base has exceeded 100 million, attributing this growth in part to successful sports sponsorships. He indicated that connecting with sports fans has been critical in driving user engagement and expanding the Crypto.com community.

In turn, for UEFA, this cooperation marks the perfect opportunity to redesign the association’s branding and find ways to communicate with young audiences, especially fans who communicate through augmented reality technology.

With more companies in the area of crypto assets seeking to establish viable means to bring their products into the mainstream, sponsoring sports events became one of the most efficient means to do so.

Although the partnership’s specifics are still unknown, it is expected that Crypto.com will have opportunities to promote during games, collaborate on digital content, and even host fan experiences centered around cryptocurrency.
