  • The Ethereum Foundation will appoint Hsiao-Wei Wang alongside Tomasz Stańczak as its co-executive directors starting March 17th 2025.
  • Within seven years as executive director, Aya Miyaguchi will now begin leading the Ethereum Foundation as its president.
  • The co-executive director leadership format brings together technological advancement, together with strategic development to optimize the Ethereum ecosystem.

A major organizational change at the Ethereum Foundation seeks to increase its support for the Ethereum environment through new leadership appointments. As of March 17, 2025 Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak will become the new co-executive directors following the previous single executive director leadership.

The president’s promotion of Aya Miyaguchi follows her seven-year service as executive director at the organization.

New Leadership Appointments

Hsiao-Wei Wang applies seven years of core research experience from EF to develop the Beacon Chain and Taiwan community initiatives while joining as new executive director. The foundation dedicated itself to evolution with Ethereum without compromising its essential values under her enthusiastic leadership as president.

As co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak brings his expertise from Nethermind to join the organization. Due to his background in technical leadership and organizational development, EF will see increased capabilities in its vital developmental stage. During his presentation, Stańczak explained that research needs to collaborate with business operations so Ethereum develops into a sustainable ecosystem.

This dual executive model reflects how EF acknowledges multiple challenges and prospects within the Ethereum platform. The new organizational structure is intended to develop Ethereum through an all-encompassing method which harmonizes technical advancements with corporate progression.

The leadership transition occurs amid discussions about EF’s role in addressing Ethereum’s market position and developer engagement. The foundation acknowledges the need to navigate the transition from an early-stage project to a robust, permissionless base layer of global finance and software infrastructure.

Community Engagement

In addition to the leadership changes, longtime Ethereum developer Danny Ryan has announced his involvement with Ethereum, a new initiative aimed at bridging Ethereum with institutional investors. This move reflects EF’s broader strategy to enhance Ethereum’s appeal and accessibility to a wider audience.

The Ethereum Foundation demonstrates its dedication to Ethereum development through executive leadership reforms that support its expansion. The Ethereum Foundation seeks to improve its leadership role in directing Ethereum application evolution by choosing executive directors whose skill sets complement each other and promoting experienced internal candidates.
