However, critics have raised questions about the timing and potential implications of the tweet. Milei acknowledged that he acted in good faith but admitted the incident revealed a need for him to adopt a more cautious approach. 

He noted that after becoming president, his behavior remained unchanged, which could have contributed to the situation spiraling out of control. Consequently, Milei said he would raise his “filters” and avoid being too accessible to such initiatives in the future.

Legal and Political Reactions

In response to the criticism, Milei’s office stated that the issue would be looked at by Argentina’s Anti-Corruption Office. Lawyer Jonatan Baldiviezo is among the critics who contend that Milei’s conduct may be connected to an illegal organization that aims to commit fraud.

According to Baldiviezo and other claimants, Milei’s participation was essential in making the fraudulent activities possible. Milei’s political rivals continue to use the incident as fodder for their attacks as the issue develops.
